How I started

My mom told me ever since she could remember, that when I was younger I always had a pen in my hand. Drawing. Non-stop from morning to night. Occasionally taking breaks in between to eat some Maruchen Ramen until I set off again, drawing. In middle school, I used to customize Tech Decks for my friends. Asking them what they wanted and overnight, cooked up their imagination on a 4in plastic board as I would present it to them the following morning. By 7th grade, during lunch, those same friends would ask me to draw on their arms so they can see what it would be like to have a temporary tattoo (that is until the supervisor caught on and banned me from "tattooing" my friends.)

That same year I met my family friend (now cousin by marriage) Mark Cruz. On his computer, he had DC Shoes graphics on the screen and I saw him create multiple versions that would then go on a shirt or deck, and thought to myself, "Oh cool, he likes to draw too." Until I got enough courage to ask him what he was doing as he replied, "My job." ----- In awe, from then on I knew what I wanted to grow up to be. A Graphic Designer.
